Mona

My name is Mona Hansen, and I am a 1982-model. In this moment I live in Strømmen outside Oslo, with my boyfriend Børge, the cat Kompis and Sheriff-the-RR.

I grew up in Fetsund outside Oslo with my mother, but spend a lot of time at my father in Nittedal.

Horses has been my hobby and lifestyle since I was 4 years old, and I have competed actively in jumping, dressage and eventing. I have been fortunate to get a lot of trust from my parents and horse owners, and I have got the opportunity to develop my skills, by even so often get new challenges in form of new horses. And thanks to this, I  have developed to become a fairly experienced  rider.

My father have had dogs his whole life, and dogs has also become a big part of my life. My father have had 3 Airedaleterriers, were 2 has been approved as rescuedogs summer and winter in Norwegian Rescuedogs. It can be mentioned that this is the only 2 Airedaleterriers in Norway attain this approval. My father's live-in girlfriend through many years have also had several Riesenschnauzers approved in Norwegian rescuedogs. So saying, I have acted as figurant in the forrest, in snowcaves and in ruins, since I was just a little girl. And when you growe up in a home were rescuework is a part of the everyday life, maybe it is naturat that I adopt this lifestyle.

Untill I was 16 years old, I had full focus on horses. But then I realized that I wanted a dog when I got older, and it had to be a Rhodesian Ridgeback. My fater had hoped that I would pursue the familiy traditioning with Airedaleterrier, but no... I had met the most wunderful dog, in the stable, and hus name was Bowie and was a Rhodesian Ridgeback. And if my father had managed to approve Airedaleterrier as rescuedog, against all odds, I would try to do the same with a RR.

I finished my studies, and in 2004 I could call myself a Bachelor in Biotechnology. Then I was 22 years old, and thought I could call myself a adult. My boyfriend through many years had always wanted a dog, and he was agreeing with the breed-choice. In January 2007 I started my master-degree in molecularbiology, so I think it will be exciting to see if I can manage dog, school and work at the same time!
